| Our inaugural year - the very first Tasmanian Forest Festival |
|
|
And what a year it was! What started off being a get together barbecue with a few games thrown in for good measure ended up being an full blown festival attended by 3,000 people and created a $4,000 windfall to the Royal Hobart Hospitals Paediatric Unit. Our donation allowed the ward to purchase two much needed specialty wheelchairs which reduced manual handling strain on staff where patients were required to be moved from their beds to the wheelchairs. The 2004 festival was a joint project of the Geeveston Branch of the Lions Club of the Huon Valley and the Tasmanian Forest Festival Committee. |
