The 2005 Tasmanian Forest Festival was held on a beautiful summers day -
the weather could not have been more perfect! A large crowd of over 5,000 people gathered at the second annual event to see over 60 gleaming trucks on display, the draught horses in action, professional tree climber Doug Walker from Victoria, not to mention the many fun events and activities the patrons could get in involved in. The many community groups involved in the day provided goods and services to the patrons which added to their experience of the event. The event was a huge success with much positive feedback received and a lot of suggestions for the 2006 event. The Committee values suggestions from sponsors and patrons as it allows the event to owned by the local community. Proceeds of the 2005 event allowed the purchase of a portable deliberator to be held at the local Police station for use by local emergency groups. This purchase was a joint initiative between the Tasmanian Forest Festival committee and the Geeveston Lions Club.
